Another busy week. Yesterday we had speeches from year 6 children who want to be our Head Boy and Head Girl. Today, as part of our Democracy Day, the rest of the children had the difficult decision of who to vote for. School councillors were also selected today! @TrustCatalyst
During Democracy Day a number of activities took place to help us understand what democracy is. We took great pleasure in showing @ThurrockJen, our MP and Cathy Sisterson, our local Councillor around. We had an informative Q&A where they answered all our questions. @TrustCatalyst

Headteacher's Award for a member of Year 6 who, after planning the three course meal with his peers in school, went home to trial baking his course. A delicious pineapple sponge arrived today, and was shared with the class. It was delicious. It could be on @BritishBakeOff
Superstar writers in years 4 and 5! I was particularly impressed with their mature use of language and adventurous vocabulary. Their teachers were incredibly proud too! #TeamAveley@Year5AveleyPri1@Year4Aveley@AveleySchool
Mrs Shafiq was incredibly proud of these girls who took their learning in maths into continuous provision. Well done on practising those skills! @EYFSAveleyPrim1@AveleySchool
