@MissCWaudby@MrTs_NQTs I worked in a school for 5 years which had a morning commute of 45 mins but about an hour home. I didn’t have kids at the time and absolutely loved the school so it was definitely worth it.
@EllisROkay @MrTs_NQTs Yeah definitely, I actually enjoyed that time in the car when you could reflect over everything that you’d been teaching that day. I also phoned family which meant I had dedicated time for keeping in touch with them too. No harm in applying and seeing what the school is like
@EllisROkay @MrTs_NQTs The school was definitely worth it though. The whole staff was welcoming and I learnt so much. Ended up staying there for 5 years until I had my first child and got a job closer to home
@EllisROkay @MrTs_NQTs For my first permanent job I decided to take on a job that was 45 miles away. It was mostly motorway which meant in the mornings if I missed traffic it would take about 45 mins to get to work but going home could be a nightmare depending on traffic. The average was usually 1 hr
