The CEO of Coca Cola makes millions. But Warren Buffett makes billions just by sitting back.

In 2025, Coca Cola CEO James Quincey was paid approximately 30 million dollars in total compensation to manage the company. He oversaw global strategy, supply chains, and marketing, working long hours to keep the brand dominant.

Now compare that to Warren Buffett.

Between 1988 and 1994, Buffett invested 1.3 billion dollars in Coca Cola stock, acquiring 400 million shares. He has held those shares ever since.

By 2026, those shares pay Berkshire Hathaway 848 million dollars in annual dividend income. That is more than 28 times the CEO's annual compensation, earned completely passively. Buffett does not run the day to day operations or attend board meetings.

Even better, Buffett's annual dividend income represents a 65 percent yield on his original cost. He gets over half his initial investment back in cash every single year.

The lesson is clear. Corporate leadership pays well, but long term ownership and compounding capital is the true path to building massive wealth.
