@justintrimble Stefan Raab fully dominated German TV for a while in like the 00's. One time my dad was in one of the clips he played in his show and we were all very excited about it ๐
@ein_edelweiss_ My son was like that every day at around 2.5yo and honestly I just dropped the nap. Like no thank you I will not have you ruin all our afternoons, just stay awake and ruin our evenings instead so we can actually do something during the day
@upstatefederlst I mean if I had a broken foot and couldn't walk, but then you promised me $25m if I walked for 50 meters, I'd probably manage it somehow.
@taraji_bsw@ClawYousay@oliveegger Because it means you have more energy available. I'm less tired, more patient and present with my kids, healthier, more loving towards my husband. Really every part of my life has improved by having more energy
@taraji_bsw@ClawYousay@oliveegger I don't think it's malabsorption since my digestion and blood work are normal.
I understand it seems surprisingly high, but also I think it's actually not that unusual compared to others in the Ray Peat community. Took years to get there too, my maintenance used to be 1800-2000
@ClawYousay@taraji_bsw@oliveegger Idk what to tell you, but that's what I eat ๐ and I don't think I'm overcounting either, I've been tracking on and off for three years and I consistently eat 3000 while nursing, 2500 when not nursing (or 2200-2300 to lose weight)
@kingofthehood89@GiffLasta I don't think they're lying, but I think they're heavily preselected. It's definitely a small minority of women you can say this to, but also a minority of men that have the necessary frame for such a conversation
@alt1na1 I feel this. My newest baby is 11 weeks rn too and I'm like do we *really* want another one but I know it'll all be worth it and I will in fact want another one in a year or two
@KnowledgeArchiv@ArchaeusGlimpse If you wanted to maximise time before kids have to endure winter, a spring birth seems better than a summer/late summer birth, no?
@taraji_bsw@ClawYousay@oliveegger I'd say on the most basic level it's maximising energy availability in the tissues. So not reducing the calories, but supporting your body so the calories are used for energy and maintenance instead of being deposited as fat. How that looks exactly varies person to person
@taraji_bsw@ClawYousay@oliveegger Haha, definitely health conscious yeah. No seed oils, only small amounts of processed foods. Going by the principles of Ray Peat has helped raise my metabolism quite a bit.
@ThymeToBeBorn My grandpa can't live by himself anymore, sleeps most of the time, and occasionally mutters to himself "why can't you just die already?"
I oppose MAID on a societal level, but on a personal level, I get it
@MomKrill Yeah same, when we had to leave New Zealand bc the startup my husband worked at went broke, travelling my plane was most definitely a selfish choice. We could've gone by ship after all, a convenient 6-8 week travel time (no kids under 6y allowed)
@taraji_bsw@ClawYousay@oliveegger I'm 5'7 and I don't really work out much at all. I sit between 140-145lbs on 3000kcal which puts me at a BMI of just under 22.
@taraji_bsw@oliveegger If you need 3000 while breastfeeding, that is 500 extra. My baseline when not breastfeeding or pregnant is 2500, maybe 2300 if I want to lose some weight. I maintain on 3000-3300 while breastfeeding.
@lizisamused The sheets really depend on usage imo. If you sleep naked and get sweaty you'd get them much dirtier than someone who sleeps in a long pyjama and doesn't sweat much. The latter would really only actually be touching their pillow
@Rach4Patriarchy I had an ambulance ride with my baby recently and having a woman on board the ambulance for pleasant chitchat to distract and calm me was actually quite nice.
