We did it!! SO proud of our students for showing how strong and resilient they are throughout this very challenging year. Have an amazing, well-deserved summer everyone! ❤️ @MrsHickey3@SettlersGreenPS
Peel Public Health announced today that beginning tomorrow, April 6, all K-12 students in the In-Person Learning model, including those in Special Education, will learn remotely this week. Students learning online will continue with their regular school routines.
Last week our students made their plans to build a rocket ship, and told us materials that they needed. We raided our recycling bins, and today we built them! So much fun exploring and creating with our space inquiry! @MrsHickey3@SettlersGreenPS
Guided reading this week is focusing on the sight words big and little. Our friends are becoming great readers in kindergarten! @SettlersGreenPS@MrsHickey3
We tried some new literacy centres today, including some space themed activities to go with our space inquiry! We found space rocks with hidden letters inside and practised building/typing some space vocabulary! @SettlersGreenPS@MrsHickey3
After reading the story, “The Long and The Short of it”, we were inspired to draw our own animals and measure them to see how long they were! @SettlersGreenPS@MrsHickey3
On Feb. 16, 2021, all buses are cancelled & school buildings are closed to students due to inclement weather conditions.
Learning will continue at home through remote, synchronous instruction, where possible.
We compared lengths of different sized strips of paper, put them in order from biggest to smallest, and turned our math into art! We were so excited to discover that it made an evergreen tree, and some even turned it into a Christmas tree like they have at home! @SettlersGreenPS
We are collecting donations for our Giving Tree! We were so excited to add the hat, headband and mittens that were brought in today. @SettlersGreenPS@MrsHickey3
We have been exploring the beautiful shades of peach and brown that make up our skin colours. We worked hard to mix paint to match our skin colours and came up with names to match our beautiful colours! We are happy in our skin!! @SettlersGreenPS@MrsHickey3
Today we made some letters for our classroom alphabet using different pieces of nature! We worked so hard, and they turned out amazing!! @SettlersGreenPS@MrsHickey3
We loved singing and acting out the poem, “Five Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate,” so why not turn our poem into art? We worked collaboratively to paint the pumpkins, splattered some stars onto our night sky, and used oil pastels for the details. 🎃 @SettlersGreenPS@MrsHickey3
