Me in my 20s sleeping at a friend’s house: “Don’t worry that you haven’t got a spare bed, I will sleep on the kitchen floor or in the bath or folded into a cupboard or in the big bush outside your front door”
Me now I’m 40: “Thank you for the offer of a spare bed, but I’m going to drive three hours home to my own one instead”
The children had a great day at the Climbing for Confidence session today and came away so happy that they had overcome so many challenges. Thankyou @stride_active and @ClimbingGreen for a fantastic morning #trynewthings#confidencebuilding

Yes I do! And the national curriculum was just as full- if not fuller with an A4 ring binder for each subject and a time commitment for every subject every week (which added up to more than the timetable). And Ofsted came for a week, and SATs existed including a writing paper…
Helping my child through a #sensorymeltdown is not giving them what they want or giving into them. I'm giving my child what they need in that moment, they need me to help them through it. #Sensory meltdowns are not the same as #tantrums.

Thinking of your child as 'behaving badly' disposes you to think of punishment. Thinking of your child as 'struggling to handle something difficult' encourages you to help them through their distress.

A big Thankyou to @MikesDonkeys who allowed us to meet his donkeys and enjoy donkey rides at our Grand Day out yesterday to celebrate the Kings Coronation.
