Drove the Renault Duster Hybrid around Chennai. Here’s my take.

➡️ CITY:
⚫️ The segment-largest 1.4kWh battery keeps it in EV mode 70–80% of the time. Silent drives and 20+ kmpl in morning rush-hour traffic! But when the segment-largest 1.8L engine kicks in, it’s loud, with noticeable vibrations. Passengers will hear it, especially below 30–40km/h. Still, those fuel-efficiency figures are addictive!

➡️HIGHWAY:
⚫️ Better suspension than the petrol, sorted dynamics and 20–22 kmpl at 80–90km/h. EV mode keeps kicking in with over 50–55% battery reserve. In the city, it works even at 25%.

➡️ E-SAVE: A segment-unique feature that maintains at least 40% battery charge for later use.

➡️ B MODE: Stronger regenerative braking and quicker energy recovery.

➡️ PERFORMANCE: Quick, but NOT QUICK. The initial response from a standstill is a little lazy. Once moving, though, it’s hard to catch!

➡️ SHOULD YOU BUY IT? If you drive 1,500km/month, absolutely worth considering.

➡️ At ₹105/litre, assuming 12kmpl for the petrol automatic and 20kmpl for the hybrid:

• Petrol running cost: ₹8.75/km
• Hybrid running cost: ₹5.25/km
• Saving: ₹3.50/km
• Annual saving: ₹63,000
• 5-year saving: ₹3.15 lakh
That’s against a version-to-version price premium of roughly ₹2.5 lakh. Hybrid registration subsidies, where applicable, could improve the equation further.

❌ WHAT YOU MISS:
⚫️ Average rear-seat space, despite a massive boot.
⚫️ Top-end features such as ADAS, auto-dimming IRVM and a 360° camera.
⚫️ Resale-value confidence compared with segment leaders.

▶️ BUT, At a starting price of ₹16.99 lakh, the Renault Duster Hybrid is a genuinely exciting option.
Lower running costs, EV-like city driving and fewer fuel-pump visits make a compelling case!

While it’s important to support our students and ask for educational reforms that positively impact the future of our youth, it’s also very important that peaceful protests by students are Not hijacked by anti national elements to create chaos & change the nature of the protest.

Seeing so much hate & divide online makes me wonder if bad elements in & outside our country have already started to work overtime to weaponise the anger & frustration felt by our students.

I have always believed in hard work, equality and excellence & that should never be compromised. A mere apology won't suffice. Now the ladies have to explain which book she was referring to, and if it is a Madwa book, then the mutt has the responsibility to reject the whole story as fabricated. Will they do it?

She claims that, she qoutes from the book as in Manimanta was blessed by Rudra, is reborn as "Shankara" in Kaladi village.

The irony is that even Advaitins didn't know where Shankaracharya was born until Jagadguru Sachchidananda Shivabhinava Narasimha Bharati Mahaswamigal, with his tapa Shakti, determined the location of Kalady. Madhvacharya came later than Shankaracharya, so from where did the Madhva sampradaya or whoever wrote such a story come up with this name for the place?

The Udupi mutt really bears the responsibility to explain the whole story and where did they story came from. If their sources really says such story, then they will have to consult and debate this with @sringerimath along with other amnaya peetas as this story is strongly insulting.
