Hi! #iteachmath in Portland OR. My priority is connection with/among students. I am a chocoholic, & love to read. I have no pets/kids but I have the best husband ever. This year, classes are #apstats and #Algebra. I wish ALL a fun & healthy start to the year! #edutwitter#mtbos
@L_D_Washington Oh. I read this as Kinder as in more kind, more kind teachers, should I buy for myself…etc. oops! I was about to say I went elastic for myself during the pandemic and never looked back!
@MoniseLSeward Ss also get to take more electives with 8 periods. But I imagine 8 is a lot of classes! When I was in HS, we had 6 periods daily. Was likely more manageable!
@MoniseLSeward HS math teacher here. We have 8 periods, 4 each day. Every day, Ts get one of the periods as a prep. For my voice condition, this schedule is so ideal. I can use different modalities of teaching during every single class, foster more group work time, etc. And only teach 3/day.
A teacher at my school was absent today? Why? Because yesterday a student put hand sanitizer in her water bottle and she drank it. She is sick, depressed, and is afraid to breastfeed her baby. Student lost recess as a result. #zeroconsequences#whyteachersarequitting
We bring whatever books we are enjoying at the moment, and discuss. Book swapping is possible, but not required. There will, of course, also be time to read.

Not sure how productive this would be in Algebra 1 but that’s mainly my fault for not fostering good group dynamics. Anyways I am still going to try it!
It's been a while since in-person exams for me so I'm really excited to do Test Talks again.
For the first 5 minutes of the exam, students talk w/ each other while looking at the exam w/out writing utensils. So many benefits including lowered test anxiety and rich conversations.
Help! You have to make 120 payments AFTER consolidating your school loans, in order to qualify for loan forgiveness??? What if I already have made almost 120? Should I NOT consolidate?
@maxlugavere catching up, listening to the interview with @RubinReport in April 2020. Thank you for being another voice of reason. I didn’t know these issues resonated with you, but I am not surprised. Even more of a fan now!!!! Keep it up, Max. We need you.
MY STUDENT LOANS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN! Thank you @MoniseLSeward for CONSTANTLY Tweeting reminders. Y'all...I had $195,000 in student loan debt. I am crying so many tears of joy right now.

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩I finally played it. I was trying to figure out how the devil to play, I think that’s why it took my 5 tries. I thought all the rows were different words at first!!
