Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention: the group shot of the musicians with children taken by Art Kane in 1968.
Art Kane, feeling afraid and unnerved by the angry music of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, was nervous about the shoot in 1968. But on the day of the session, he encountered warmth and compassion instead. He had initially wanted to photograph them protesting angrily with their own images as picket signs, but Frank Zappa rejected the idea, considering it "the worst ***king idea I've heard in my entire life." Kane opted instead to portray the band as a more human and emotional group of individuals. The contrast between the naked babies and the long-haired, bad-boy rockers served to invite viewers to look beyond the tough image they projected and glimpse the vulnerability beneath.
Kane asked the band members if they had kids, and some of them did, so he requested, "Please bring your children." They also enlisted a few professional model babies. A group of moms from circa 1968 nervously gathered around while their beautiful little babies were placed in the hands of these terrifying, bearded, long-haired freaks.
"I showed up for the shoot after school, I was 11 years old, and I was a bit nervous to meet these rock stars," shared Jonathan Kane, his son, in an interview with Interview Magazine. "They looked so terrifying, but immediately Frank Zappa rushed up to me, hugged me, and said, 'Hey man, you should've been here an hour ago, man. The babies were pissing all over us! We got soaked, man!' Apparently that did happen, the babies were naked and at one point they all started peeing. Everybody got saturated.
"For me, though, that photo is so full of life, love, and humor. It's so packed in the frame with a Renaissance-like theme. Everybody, with the exception of the babies, has their eyes glued on Art Kane and that was one thing my dad demanded. Unless he had another vision, he insisted that subjects look directly into his lens."
A 9-year-old girl in Houston witnessed her mother being shot and killed by her partner. The amount of suffering and trauma that happens in America in exchange for unfettered access to guns is shameful.

🚨🚨🚨Holy shit: A father of a child who was killed in the Uvalde school shooting SLAMMED Texas legislators for their “useless thoughts and prayers.”
Brett Cross boldly testified in front of a Texas House committee in support of legislation that would raise the minimum age to buy semi-automatic weapons from 18 to 21.
Brett Cross: “I'm so sick of hearing those three words from our elected officials…
While your prayers may have comforted you, they did nothing to absolve our pain...
Your thoughts and prayers didn't stop an 18 year old from purchasing two high powered semi automatic rifles and all of those rounds of ammunition.
Your thoughts and prayers didn't stop us from having to bury our children and two teachers.
Your thoughts and prayers haven't done anything in the 329 days since Uziel was shot through his stomach exiting his spine.
Your thoughts and prayers are useless unless you have thought and prayed for legislation that you can help enact that could change this.”
Thank you so much to Brett Cross and these BRAVE parents for speaking out!

Everyone survived bath day (It's actual hell with an anxious, senior, rescue). All clean,including ears,and de-sheded. Worth the hours involved. I'm pretty sure that he consumed a full chicken breast, one tiny piece at a time. We have all of our fingers. He came out of hiding.
@thecubanb33@MichaelHook_CLE Opinions are like assholes.
He's not your type of player. Nothing wrong with that. But, someone who claims to be a "betting consultant" would know when to remain neutral in a public forum.
