Congratulations to this year's Math Video Challenge quarterfinalists! These 50 teams put their creativity & math skills to the test to make some pretty awesome real-world-application math videos. https://t.co/EURdTs8ldD
When the kids who say they hate math, get excited about a slope dance TikTok I found, it’s hard not to cave to posting on #TikTok#mathisfun https://t.co/NgL9LyaZdX
Did you know Sunday (January 23rd) is National Measure Your Feet Day? Although, feet can be a bit weird and gross, we celebrated at Math Club by measuring our feet in jolly ranchers, goldfish, paper clips, skittles & cm!
A fun way to combine measurement, proportions and treats!
A little delayed but 2021 was a great year finishing up my first year of teaching, kicking off Math Club and beginning to attend sporting events for my students!
Today my plan bell consisted of a Zoom call and @gimkit with some 8th graders. They had asked if we could play while they were remote. Grateful to be able to stay connected with these kiddos while some of them are remote. 💕
Proud of these kiddos for their leadership, character & academic achievements. Tonight they were inducted into NJHS. (Masks were worn, they were removed by the ss for a quick picture.)
Today my 8th graders wanted to Zoom call another classmate who has been out for a round of @gimkit! While we may have not gotten through the lesson, the joy on their faces & of their classmate was absolutely worth it! #firstyearteacher
You're not grading assignments.
You're collecting evidence to determine student progress and pointing them towards their next steps.
Make the mental switch. It matters.
