I'm telling you, #jamboard is such a fun, easy way to show your mathematical thinking and collaborate & engage with other's ideas online. My students are loving it! #cgimath#iteachmath#mtbos ❤️💭💻
@mrsoppel@UCLAMathProject @meganlfranke @CarrythZero @hellokritty Such interesting compensation. I wonder how DK would connect their moves to the context. 900-700=200 is their first move. What does that mean in relation to pages read and left? And how does that differ from the 790 and 985?
@mrsoppel@UCLAMathProject @meganlfranke @CarrythZero @hellokritty@Angelaturrou Dylan joined our virtual assembly today & explained his thinking. He actually used an invented algorithm, subtracting left to right, first the 100’s. When he realized that he could not subtract 85-90 he took 5 from the 200 to give to the 85, leaving him with 195.
What question would you ask my student D.K. (green box) ? The mathematician said I represented their thinking correctly. I see compensation and I’m still trying to crack the code. @UCLAMathProject @meganlfranke @CarrythZero @hellokritty@Angelaturrou
Check out this multiplication chart drawn to scale from @the_chalkface! This seems so intuitive. More info here: https://t.co/cPEG5zMSZQ #iteachmath#MTBoS
How many... animals? 👀? 🐾 ? What if we lost 1/4? What number sentence might we write to represent how we counted? (What time was it when I took this picture?) #countingcollectionsathome@UCLAMathProject
Tomorrow afternoon! Sketchnoting, happy hour, & math. It doesn't get better than that! Here's the optimal set up:✒️✏️or🖍️,🥤🍷🍺,💻📱,📜 Login to https://t.co/RnRYPfGJ36 and find my session. 4pm Monday, 3/30! I can't wait! 😎😎😎 #SpringCUE#sketchmath#sketch50#WeAreCUE#CUELA
“It’s simple” I will draw with you in a Zoom, you can sketchnote in your room. We can sketch online, or you can watch the video anytime. :) 💕✏️💻 @cueinc #sketchcue#sketchmath
This book was donated to our class and it inspired us to make our own kindness jar! We will pull a kind deed out everyday and do our best to complete it that day!
I don’t do a lot of super formal reading comprehension assessments beyond running records and conferring, but the kids surprised me. #kidsgetit@principalcda
My forever mentor. Every teacher needs someone to push them, challenge them and help them reflect. I always ask myself... what would Liz do?!
I adore you. https://t.co/9UlHT6eV0y
Today our team continued their journey on deepening our practice through refining how we listen to our students and set them up listen to each other. So proud that everyone brought an artifact around which we could collaborate, watching our students, thinking about next steps.
