Cases are across our county and across our county. Community spread is real. These numbers show the facts. Infection rates by zip code for the week of November 7th.
I've spent the last two weeks talking to infectious disease experts. Every one of them says:
1. Six feet is NOT a magic number
2. Aerosols float indoors - they don't drop after six feet
3. Not all droplets drop within six feet either (see no. 1)
4. Masks address much/most of this
I'm starting an ongoing feature called "Pandemic Lessons." We'll identify vital questions, pose them to both leading experts and the people living them out, and bring you answers you can apply to your life.
We lead off with: "How to keep schools open?"

What have you wondered about crossing the border?
We're collecting reader questions for our @TheBuffaloNews series on U.S.-Canadian border issues. Send along questions on border crossing and any other border-related issues and we'll try to get them answered in an upcoming story.
A scene from our border series:
CBP officer inspecting Canadian mail opens a box labeled "puzzle." Puzzle pieces fall out.
So do marijuana seeds.
He seizes the seeds, repacks the puzzle, inserts an official notice, and puts it back in the mail.

A child, upon testing a rule, who is able to verify its actual existence, is then free to operate creatively and constructively within its boundaries. Rules, therefore, help children become more intelligent.
The most effective means of helping a child toward becoming a productive, responsible member of society is to assign him or her a regular, daily routine of chores around the home. Parents who fail to do so are neglecting their civic responsibilities.
Children need to be told what to do by parents who aren’t afraid or embarrassed by an occasional showdown. Children feel most secure and comfortable with parents who know where they stand; and stand and deliver.
