At the CVCSD State of the Schools a team of 7th grade CMS students explained how researching a scientist and keeping their image/info around the classroom will lead to recognition of true role models who have persevered to succeed in their chosen science fields. TIGER PRIDE๐ฏ!
Take this storm seriously, folks.
Moderate to major impacts are expected from the Central US through to the Northeast today through the weekend.

Today Kat Sharp from the Soil and Water Conservation office came out and explained how the wetland, vegetation, and grading on Circleville's campus helps protect soil and water quality in Pickaway County. The weather allowed all 7th graders to get outside & learn something new!
In 7th science & social studies, Mrs. Ellis-Rader & I have combined our students & lessons to finish strong & do some fun lessons w/ the kids. They are dissecting flowers that are in bloom right now in Ohio. They have learned there's a lot more to them than the ๐ฏeye can see!
CMS 7th graders spent the day reflecting on what they have learned in science this year and how it prepares them to "speak" for the Earth. Moustaches were earned by all!
Shout out to Mr Thomas and his CHS Robotics students who competed at the National Robotics Competition the last 3 days! Students competed with robo hockey, mini sumo and sumo robots. TIGER PRIDE๐ฏ

Tomorrow 2/21/25 CMS will host the first ever Chip Challenge which was organized and promoted by a group of 8th grade students. This STEM activity is being sponsored by DuPont and Kenworth. Read below to see how your CMS student can participate!
To wrap up thermal energy CMS 7th grade students constructed hot air balloons to demonstrate convection, radiation and conduction! They also wrote about the thermal energy involved to further their understanding. ๐ฏ
CMS 7th grade science students researched different scientists and presented info to their peers. The goal is to help them become familiar with really influential people that have had major impacts on our world. They also made a Blooket of famous scientists to play! ๐ฏPRIDE
While completing the steps of the scientific method using a paper thing this group came up with a great hypothesis that tested to see if the PT could hover with the right amount of air flow. Awesome critical thinking & perseverance in CMS 7th grade!!!
7th grade science students really enjoyed the augmented reality topographic sand table that Kat Sharp brought in to teach students in real time what a topographic map has to offer. The students absolutely love this! ๐ฏ
3 days during this last week of school, Kat Sharp has spent her time teaching 7th grade science students about the soil and water conservation that is happening right here on Circleville's school campus!
Lynlee enriched her 7th grade science understanding by completing the Science Fun with Physics project! She shared the loop plane activity and everybody now has a much better airplane in their toolbox! ๐ฏ
Caiden and Sam learned some good old fashioned hands-on industrial arts to enrich their science understanding in 7th grade! They explained the difference between hardwoods and softwoods and benefits of each! They also made woodworking projects!
Bella made a convection, conduction and radiation carousel to show heat transfer to demonstrate learning outcomes covered in 7th grade science to her classmates! TIGER PRIDE!
Hayes, Carter, Willie, Bryson, & Nolan chose to learn about rocketry & Newton's laws. They used 6 2L bottles to demonstrate to their classmates how each component of a rocket adds to its stability & performance. ๐ฏ๐ Fun was had by all!
