It's completely unsurprising - yet still unacceptable - that the people who outlaw private thoughts and silent prayers are unwilling to debate out in the open.
Totalitarian regimes have never been into open debate.
It's always intimidation, silencing, doublespeak, imprisoning.
Quite.
Their objective is not compassion, but death to the vulnerable. The committee stage has seen the mask slip.
The mercies of the wicked are cruel. Proverbs 12: 10
What do we lose when we stop singing Psalms?
We lose Scripture. When we sing the Psalms, we’re constantly reminded that Old and New are chapters of one book. Every time we sing Psalms, we tell ourselves the Old Testament is our book, Israel’s God our God.
We lose the church. Every time we sing Psalms, we tell ourselves Israel’s fathers are our fathers, Israel’s exodus and conquest our exodus and conquest. Singing Israel’s history (e.g., Psalm 78), we sing our history.
We lose hardy, resilient, militant faith. The church lost her militant edge, her resilience in the face of opposition, and her toughness when she turned from the Psalms to bowdlerized Psalm paraphrases, sentimental gospel hymns, and, latterly, outdated rock tunes.
Most important, we lose Jesus. Jesus' is the face that emerges when we assemble the pieces of the Old Testament in the right pattern. The New Testament writers cite the Psalms more than any other Old Testament book. If we don’t sing Psalms, we’ll find ourselves with a thin, wispy, indistinct Jesus.
Every time we sing Psalms, we make Jesus’ words our own. We conform our lives and prayers to the life and prayers of David’s greater Son.
Our need is for a Saviour.
Christianity, for all the faults of Christians, made our country great. Only a return to true Christianity can save us. Churches need to repent first and then call everyone else to. The Lord has been very good to this country and can be again.
We've just hit 2,000 signatures on the petition to abolish NCHIs — but we’re just getting started. Let’s keep the pressure up and hit 10,000 to force a government response. Every signature brings us closer. Thank you to everyone who’s signed — please keep sharing!

@calvinrobinson@thisisfoster The future of Christendom is Catholic, not Roman Catholic. It is not tied to Mary, transubstantiation, faith + works salvation or the authority of the Pope. Some disagreements are fundamental, others not. Protestants have a whole lot of σκύβαλα to shift from our own houses.
...and what do we do...repent, believe the Gospel...make restitution...apply God's Holy Law. It's how we were blessed in the past and how we will be blessed again.
1. England and Crystal Palace footballer, Marc Guehi, is not alone in being criticised, pressurised and punished for loving Jesus and expressing Christian beliefs in public. What he is facing is not a new theme for us and gets to the heart of many of the biggest legal cases the Christian Legal Centre supports. This thread gives you just some of their stories...
Polish Parliament has rejected a bill to liberalise abortion. They won by a margin of just 3 votes (218 v 215). Thank you to all those good politicians who stood firm on this issue - every vote counts - and may God protect Poland from the evil of abortion!
On the UK economic front, the prospects are awful. Whatever politicians in the UK are offering, the fact is that the country is beyond broke - current gross UK government debt is £2.7tr...honesty please.
