Second grade celebrated National Tacky Sweater Day today by doing task cards in reading, a mystery pixel picture in math, and designing our own sweaters with a directed drawing! @OxfordStES

Second grade had a great time this morning making spider webs, graham cracker barns, and Oreo spiders for our Charlotte’s Web day! @OxfordStES @countyreaders

This week, we learned about fall foliage. We learned there are places in the USA that don’t get to experience it, so we collected and shipped leaves from NJ to a school in TX! Thank you to the Belvidere Post Office for our own guided tour! @OxfordStES

We had a wonderful time at our field trip to the pumpkin pact yesterday! We even incorporated our Fundations lesson while discussion about it today! @OxfordStES @MrsEhasz

Second grade is having fun with our Eric Carle author study! This week we studied clouds, drew what we saw in the sky, and a made a cloud in a jar. We also created new houses for hermit crab and had one visit our class! @OxfordStES

Today we worked to save Fred the worm. His boat capsized and we had to figure out how to get him in his life preserve, and in his boat, using only paperclips! It was hard work but everyone was successful! @OxfordStES

Yesterday, 2nd grade worked on segmenting sounds and presented to the class. They did great! @OxfordStES

Screaming HAPPY RETIREMENT to Mrs. Worobetz! She has been the face of second grade at Belvidere for 25 years. It has been an honor to work beside her. I am so thankful for her guidance, support, and friendship. I will miss her so much next year! @OxfordStES

Today was E = EGG day in our SUMMER countdown. We read the Good Egg, had egg races, and drew the good egg! @OxfordStES

Today in our SUMMER countdown was M = My town! We walked around Belvidere and pointed out all the wonderful things we have, like two of our great crossing guards, Les and Nancy, and ended the day with ice cream from Skoogy’s! @OxfordStES

Today was day 4 of our SUMMER countdown - M for mindfulness! Thank you to @SMarch929 for leading us in a wonderful mindfulness lesson this morning! We also made mindfulness wands to help us concentrate on our breathing. @OxfordStES

Today was day 2 of our SUMMER countdown. U is for Universe Day 🌍🌙✨ We did a directed drawing of an alien and painted with glow in the dark paint!
