Second grade students in the ISD are taking field trips to the National Frontier Trails Museum to learn about settlers and life on a western trail. Students examine artifacts, discuss how tools were made and experience trading supplies as Native Americans and settlers. #isdstrong

A special #ISDStrong shout out to Christ United Methodist Church and the @BridgerMiddle6 Buffalos who are working hard to sort and crochet grocery bags into beautiful blankets for our homeless neighbors of Independence. Just one of many @ISDSchools’ student service projects today

Skip counting our pumpkin seeds. The goal was to divide the seeds equally amongst your table. Each table had different strategies. Counting by twos, tens, and even twenty. #pumpkinweek #isd2nd #isdstrong #sharks4life @LBSharks

Reviewing our doubles can be fun! We played BUMP to practice our doubles and double plus one. #sharks4life #isdstrong #isd2nd @LBSharks

I am loving these place value spiders the kiddos made today! They rolled the dice to make a number in standard form. Then they had to write it in word form and expanded form. #spiderweek #mathisfun #sharks4life #isdstrong @LBSharks

After carving all the seeds out of our pumpkins we started counting them. We used our skip counting mats to count by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s. #mathisfun #pumpkinweek #isd2nd #isdstrong @LBSharks

@ashley_hinck @LBSharks My kids were so happy to do this project. My hope is that eventually every classroom receives a basket of supplies!

[Mrs. Travis @mrstravis18]

We received a bundle of school supplies from a special 3rd grader today. He wanted to donate his supplies to a 2nd grade classroom and our class was chosen. What an act of KINDness! #choosekind #2ndgrade #isdstrong @LBSharks

Our August books came today! The kids were so excited to open a box made out to them. They are excited to take home their very first book of the year “Charlottes Web”. Thank you to all of those who are sponsoring one of these kiddos this year! #sharks4life @LBSharks
