A7 Games are the "practice" component. It is my favorite way to formatively assess. I can watch for accuracy and slide in to have conversations about thinking. You can tell so much by just observing during game play. #elemmathchat
@kloneal2 I absolutely agree - time always seem to be an issue so we push what we think will "go fast" when in reality if we'd just slow down and develop understanding we'd see the payoff in the long haul!
A5 I wonder sometimes if teachers don't really understand the difference between additive and multiplicative thinking therefore, Ss don't develop their mult reasoning. I'm always surprised at how many Ts are excited when kids can skip count quickly to get products. #elemmathchat
