I am in AWE of how artistic and talented my students are this year! They surprised me with a TJ Watt (my favorite football player) ceiling tile for our classroom! I love it so much! @MsPaugh_RFISArt@RFIShuskies
Today we read I Promise by Lebron James. We brainstormed promises that we can work towards keeping to create a wonderful classroom environment this year!
Review fun before our assessment! Kids worked in breakout rooms playing Jeopardy to recap what they learned about the 3 early English Settlements. Each group had a host and created teams to work together in answering the questions.
Finishing up nonfiction text structures today! Students worked in groups on Jamboard and wrote examples of each structure while focusing on one specific topic! They also did a text structure sort independently!
Students drew/used Google images the steps the hagfish took to defend itself against predators like the shark. This was one example of how texts can be organized in chronological order.
Students published their fiction stories with Book Creator. They then browsed their classmates’ stories and looked for lines to lift that showed craft.
There is a lot to be thankful for! My students reflected on what they are most thankful for. We even started to decorate the virtual thankful tree! Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃
Today we learned about author’s craft! We started by looking at a video of how quarterbacks have techniques and styles that make them unique just like authors have craft techniques to show their identity as a writer! It led to great conversation to help jumpstart the lesson!
