Perpetual licenses vs subscriptions — which do you actually prefer?

Quick question for software users and fellow devs 👋

Maybe I’m old school on this — I still prefer perpetual licensing. Buy the software once and it’s yours. No recurring bills, no losing features or access if you pause payments, no “rent forever” model.

The industry shifted hard to subscriptions. I understand why (predictable revenue for us), but I’m wondering if a lot of people are as tired of it as I am.

For the tools we’re building now, our thoughts are to keep them subscription-free or optional because we believe in ownership and flexibility. But before we double down, I would like real market feedback.

What licensing model do you actually prefer?
• Perpetual (buy once, own it)
• Subscription (pay for updates & support)
• Hybrid / optional

@DrChalmers1 I have AGS… only bitten once in Spring 2020.. Seth contracted it at the same time but is over it now, thankfully. We have done SAAT acupuncture more than once.. it’s so ridiculous since I have the avian allergy too, if you remember- chicken and egg allergy..
