I like the direction Xbox is going, but no agressive price changes to a product that has been out for 6 years is wild. They should discontinue the series S and make a refreshed series x in the sub $400. range. Exclusives mean nothing if your console cost $700
@Spectromachina@notch I mean I think the fundemental point is that this platform as well as many others used to an interesting place to visit. Sure people would argue but least it was interesting and stimulating now not so much.... Saying "just go code" misses the point. The sight itself sucks now.
@Real_Priception@awesomehalofan Personally, I will not say such things. There are plenty of games that have aged poorly. Take super mario 64 for example. It's one of the best platformers of all time. But it's got a lot of jank, the levels are basic and seemingly random. Do you lower the score for modernity?
@Real_Priception@awesomehalofan If your rating standards are based in modern tastes then yes it makes sense to not be a 9/10 but I think it's a bit more reasonable to rate something based on when it was relevant and consider what role it played, and the problems it solved. When you factor that in.... 9/10
@Slayerdps@therealcliffyb Everything we are discussing here is subjective unless we are talking about tech. Hardware has objective gotten better in every metric. Software on the other hand....
If LLMs really made workers more productive in a general way, as is claimed, and this had been going on for a couple of years, as is claimed, wouldn’t we expect to see a boost to the economy and an uptick in consumer sentiment, rather than like, historic lows?
@1nterlandi@Jonathan_Blow I mean... sure, but one day it will be released someday and someone will eventually train some LLM. Like anything else. It comes down to the individual how they use a language. Also that's not a feature... That's a circumstance.
@lucidstarfield@iupdate Literally bullshit. Most modern features today on any phones started on android. Talk to me when you finally get a button that closes all programs instead of opening the multitask menu and swipping up a thousand time a day.
Yes, my Task Manager alternative comes with a run dialog, complete with command history, autocompletion and more. No, it does not take 94 ms to appear. Computers can be fast!
Over the last couple of years this sight has become painfully stupid. I see so much bot content and low quality / dangerous Chinese "life hack" short form videos. It is not the public square of ideas. It's an echo chamber low effort thinking.
@TheLocus343 What I mean by both is that the Bungie games kept things grounded artistically. The feeling of something plausibly existing in reality. 343 took the opposite approach. Everything is clean prestine and perfect. I simply don't have enough characters to get into details. So yeah...
@TheLocus343 You clearly don't know the difference between "art style" and "art direction" Sure h4 has a nice style. Ticks the Scifi trope box, but does the direction match the direction of the previous games? Obviously not. Bungie was more rustic and down to earth. 343 went tropey Scifi
Halo 4 is has a pretty cool story and is a tight little Scifi shootrr. I give it a solid 7 for having a decent story and for being decent shooter. As a Halo game... Solid 4. It stripped the life out of the franchise and made Halo a generic Scifi shooter.
