2 students have taken the initiative to become writing partners and draft personal narratives during our “soft start�� time. They’re at the final stage of the writing process. Today they polled the class during meeting to see which piece they should publish first. #beingawriter

As we wrap up our first reading unit, students initiated adding another choice to our “soft starts” in the morning: Booktastic Book Club, where students come together to talk about books! Complete with student-made flyers.📚 #MiniZs @mariemontelem @MariemontSchool @LucyCalkins

When we are the first kinder class out to recess...everyone spontaneously breaks out into a whole class round of tag! It’s wonderful to see the community they created together.
