Love the idea of asking for wrong answers. I think it can build independence in our S's by giving them a way to think about a problem when they don't know what to do

I'm attending the 2023 Make Math Moments Virtual Summit from @makemathmoments#mmmsummit2023 RT if you think others will find this helpful ๐ https://t.co/6gDsWcPmwI #mmmsummit2023
I've had a bunch of close friends leave teaching and start working in the private sector. Without fail, every single one of them says they are less stressed, their work/life balance is better, and their mental health is better, even though some are making less money.

This is my first year teaching Algebra 1. Going into quadratics next...what is the best starting place for quadratics? I'm debating between factoring trinomials (they know how to multiply binomials) and solving equations (they can solve linear equations). What say you, #mtbos ?
Looking for more activities where S's can collect data to produce a linear model. I have used distance/time and number of knots/rope length, just wondering what other ideas are out there? There is something special about S's using data they actually collected themselves #mtbos
This has been a big thing at every school I've been to, and it always feels wrong to me when I do it. Discourages students from thinking for themselves and encourages them to let the teacher do the thinking for them.
I have been listening to the audiobook "building thinking classrooms" by @pgliljedahl and it's blowing my mind! But he keeps referencing "the companion website" for resources and I can't find it. Anybody know where I can find it? #iteachmath#mtbos
