I LOVE doing escape rooms in class because I hear statements like “can we finish this tomorrow?” Or “NO! The bell already?” and then I know I got the students right where I want them- in love with learning! @PrestonwoodPCA

Students practiced being descriptive in their observation skills for a crime scene today by being the sketch artist and the witness in several crimes. Detective NoClue was there to help in his detective coat, hat, and magnifying glass!

I had DODGE BALL duty and might have not dodged when I should have and got smacked in the face by an 8th grader. I had to ice my jaw the rest of the evening! 😂 Does workman’s comp cover that?

Of course our teams balloon had a hole in it! It was still a blast to kick of the year with my advisory team playing games and getting to know each other!

Tower Challenge PART 1: students designed and built a tower that held a tennis ball 10 cm aloft the table. They were put in groups with those who had similar personalities types. We observed how the group worked well and what challenges did they face.

Tower Challenge PART 2: students had to build the tallest freestanding tower in a group of students who tested very different from each other in their personality quiz! How do we work with people who think differently?

1ST DAY OF SCHOOL! It’s my 7th year teaching and I’m teaching 7th grade!
I LOVED being able to see each and every student and share with them who I am and how the Lord saved me!
I love these kids already and can’t wait to get to know them more!
