ఈ సమయంలో రైతుల పక్షాన కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వాన్ని నిలదీయాల్సిన ఈనాడు చూడండి ఎట్లా రేవంత్ ప్రభుత్వాన్ని కవర్ చేసుకొస్తోందో.

లక్షల క్యూసెక్కుల వరద నీరును వాడుకోకుండా దిగువకు వదిలేస్తున్న రేవంత్ అసమర్ధతను కవర్ చేస్తూ తనదైన పంథాలో అసలు ప్రాజెక్టుల్లో నీళ్లే లేవు, కనుక వ్యవసాయానికి నీళ్లివ్వడం కుదరదు అని తెలివిగా ఎజెండా సెట్ చేస్తోంది.

ఈరోజు కూడా కృష్ణాలో రెండు లక్షల క్యూసెక్కుల వరద వస్తోంటే కల్వకుర్తి లిఫ్ట్, పాలమూరు-రంగారెడ్డి ప్రాజెక్టులోని నార్లాపూర్ పంపులు ఎందుకు రేవంత్ రెడ్డి ఆన్ చేయడం లేదు అని ఈనాడు దినపత్రిక ప్రశ్నించదు.

తనకు నచ్చిన ప్రభుత్వాలు ఉన్నచోట ఒకలాగా, నచ్చని ప్రభుత్వాలు ఉన్నచోట మరోలాగా వార్తలు ప్రచురించే దుర్మార్గమైన పచ్చ స్లాటర్ హౌజ్ ఈనాడు!

Scam after scam. Skeleton after skeleton.
First the Ram Mandir donation boxes. Devotees’ offerings allegedly siphoned off. CCTV footage, multiple thefts, eight arrests, nearly ₹80 lakh recovered, trust members resigning. The very temple projected as the ultimate symbol of faith now carries the stench of embezzlement.
And the government wants us to believe this is an isolated lapse?
Look at the bigger picture.
PM CARES.
Created as a “public charitable trust.” Then suddenly declared a private entity. Kept outside RTI. Outside CAG audit. And now, by the PMO’s own direction, questions on it are not even allowed in Parliament.
A fund chaired by the Prime Minister, with senior ministers as trustees, that collected thousands of crores of public and CSR money during a national crisis… and the nation is told it cannot ask where the money went. Audited statements missing for years. Zero parliamentary accountability.
One is the tip of the iceberg. The other is the iceberg itself.
When institutions meant to serve the people are turned into black boxes, when faith and crisis are both monetised without transparency, and when even Parliament is told to look the other way — this is not governance. This is systematic opacity.
The wardrobe is overflowing. And every new skeleton only confirms what citizens already know: power without accountability always ends in the same place.

Can we have an audit of the PM CARES Fund?
The real question is — why shouldn’t we?
A fund chaired by the Prime Minister, carrying the national emblem, receiving thousands of crores in public donations and CSR contributions, and repeatedly projected as the nation’s emergency response vehicle, remains outside CAG audit, outside full RTI scrutiny, and outside parliamentary questions.
Private auditors and selective receipts-and-payments statements are not a substitute for the independent, rigorous oversight that every other public instrument claiming to act in the name of citizens is subjected to.
If the fund has been managed with complete integrity, an independent audit should be welcomed.
If transparency is treated as a threat, that itself answers the question and more so after the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Theft where suspicion points towards PMO.
Opacity is not a virtue. Accountability is.
