@kennedy_tierney At HS level and perhaps middle school, reduce number of periods and extend the length. Teachers have fewer classes to teach (and fewer preps), students have fewer different subject classes to attend. Drawback is having one class for many hours in a row might be too long.

@NewAmericaEd a new pandemic. But these types of confusing regulations and jargon makes it difficult for district finance and business staff to make decisions. Having more staff to navigate may have helped, but having plain and clear guidance could have helped like “Yes you can buy masks”
@NewAmericaEd With 3 - strains on staff - I spoke with a chief business officer who shared they were getting hell from federal auditors because they bought filters and masks without a competitive procurement process. But the governor’s emergency declaration allowed for this. After all it was
@MatthewAKraft Definitely! If I had told K teachers they’d loop K to, let’s say, 3, they’d have heart attacks! I wonder if there’s some format to encourage some looping For the relational benefits, and not overburden w prep/lessons over many subjects and many grade levels.

@jessgartner made an impact in individual and small group sessions for the students she could reach. She conveyed it was overwhelming. But in my perspective 0.2FTE was better than 0! This was pre pandemic, and anecdotally it’s now far more challenging
Many are skeptical that capital spending matters for students.

@MrWithersKS1 They’re now 30 to 34(yikes!), and I’m now LinkedIn connected to many, which was strange at first but also awesome as I see what they’re doing in the world professionally.
