iirc it was branded as a special sneak preview but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it only ever played that one time in a tiny theater (soon to close and reopen as a mostly live event venue) in the Pittsburgh suburbs and no one ever paid to see it
No Escape (2015) came up in the Blank Check episode on The Odyssey. My mom got 2 tickets to an "early screening" as a reward for filling out an online survey. One of the worst things I've seen but I still think fondly of the experience.
Once again bemoaning the fact that I had a true IMAX 20 minutes away from me but the pandemic closed it down and the company that bought and reopened the theater I guess couldn't afford the licensing/operating costs and the screen/projector were presumably shipped off elsewhere.
@JoyceCarolOates I watched it for a 3rd time last night with my mother (it's quickly become one of her favorite movies) and I agree with you on the score. The first 2 times I saw it in the theater it didn't bother me, but it did irk me watching at home.
