@rl_docherty I feel this—there are so many asinine things making this calling even harder this year. Please reach out to vent or to simply share the little glimmers of hope in all this chaos. Even if they are sometimes few and far between. And, take care of yourself first and foremost! 🙂
I cannot wait to be free from isolation tomorrow, to see my family, eat some Thanksgiving dinner, and to see my kids at school on Tuesday!
(btw, I only lost my taste and smell for a couple days, so all is well— Thanks Pfizer!)
Testing positive for Covid during Thanksgiving was not at all what I had planned…
Thankful that I was in quarantine during a holiday break, even though it wasn’t particularly exciting, because I have a precious amount of sick days at my disposal 🙃
Besides being an English teacher, one of my passions has been co-designing artistic and beautiful competitive marching band shows with my incredibly talented friends. Seeing it all come to life by our phenomenal kids last night brought out so many emotions. First overall! 🎶❤️
What a wonderful first day! My students brought to life our shared space and made it feel like home. Day one and I’m already eager to build relationships with this crew! ❤️🐾 #english10#nwbuilt#startfresh#classof2024
To finish out the school year on a positive note, my 9th and 11th grade students wrote personal narratives. The theme was “Tell Me A Story: What Went Right?” They created QR codes of them reading their personal narratives and had the opportunity to share them with their peers! 😊
Exciting news!! Tonight, I was approved to be the new high school English teacher at Northwestern High School!
I am absolutely humbled and honored to be given the opportunity to serve the NW school district and community.
WHAT TEAM? ❤️🐾🖤 WILDCATS!
