Shows in the archeological record also.
Burned towns, abandoned Native villages, defensive garrisons, refugee settlements, and shattered trade networks all became part of the landscape. Many sites archaeologists investigate today still carry the material evidence of that conflict nearly 350 years later.
On this day in 1675, the bloodiest war in early American history exploded across New England.
For decades the New England colonists and the Wampanoag had kept an uneasy peace. The chief who held it together was named Metacom, though the colonists called him King Philip. When that peace finally snapped, his warriors struck the town of Swansea.
What followed was savage. Dozens of towns were burned off the map. Measured against the size of the population, it was one of the deadliest wars ever fought on American soil, worse than the Civil War by that measure.
It dragged on more than a year until Philip was hunted down and killed. The frontier of New England was never the same again.
Remember when some dude detonated a sophisticated RV bomb in downtown Nashville next to some very expensive telecomms stuff after warning people to flee and it was out of the news before midnight?

This is even funnier considering that PSN was once literally out for almost a month.
Imagine if it happened again and at one point you literally couldn't play the games YOU bought because Sony are incompetent.
After the PSN Outage of 2011, Sony offered PS3 users two free PS3 games as compensation. The 5 games they offered as part of the promotion were:
inFamous
LittleBigPlanet
Dead Nation
wipEout HD
Super Stardust HD
Which games did you pick? I got Dead Nation and Super Stardust
