A man fainted inside a bank today and people rushed to help him out. Someone said,"let pour water on him", But to surprise of many, the man replied,"Don't be an idiot,if I wanted water, I would have fainted inside Nile River. See where I have fainted and do the right thing"

Moving from Symbolic to Systemic: Redefining Women’s Rights in West Nile.
"Giving is not a subtraction; it is intentional multiplication."
At the International Women’s Day Pre-Conference taking place in Terego District right now, @AnnetLekuru, Executive Director of Feminature Uganda, delivered a compelling roadmap for gender justice in 2026 under the Gender Equality and Resilience Project (GEAR). She noted, 'The "Give To Gain' Spirit is about investing in maternal health, land rights, and digital safety, which is the only way to ensure regional prosperity. It is about generating a verifiable truth to hold newly elected leaders accountable for service delivery. In her closing remarks, she quoted a Lugbara Provert, “E’bu si aza oye ku”—cultivation is not madness; it is the prerequisite for a harvest. It’s time to cultivate a landscape where every girl, from Rhino Camp to Arua City, can thrive.'
The @IWD Pre-Conference is informed by some of the priority issues raised by the community structures, women's activists, grassroots advocacy groups, and change agents during issue generation sessions and community score-cards conducted in the past year. Key to some of these issues includes the unequal social and gender norms that are rooted in cultural practices inclu, including the famous Aruba custom of the Lugbara people, which supposedly invokes curses on women for reporting domestic issues involving their spouses to law enforcement. The priority issues being discussed include the high rates of GBV, including the rise in Technology Facilitated GBV, and inadequate access to justice systems.
The pre-conference will deliver a policy paper which will inform the drafting of a petition to be submitted to @AruaCityUg and Terego District Local Government for strategic planning and action in the coming financial year by the nine (9) Women-Led Organisations, Youth-Led Organisations, and Refugee-Led Organisations that Feminature is working with in the two districts.
Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.

Leadership at FIDA-Uganda is deliberate, strategic, and transformative. Through our strongest community sustainability approach, the Community Legal Volunteers (CLVs) model, we are not only strengthening informal justice systems, but intentionally cultivating grassroots leaders.
We proudly celebrate our CLV, Munira Salima, on her election as Female Councillor for Arivu Subcounty in Arua District, a clear testament to the trust, credibility, and impact she has built within her community.
Her journey affirms the power of investing in local leadership. Proudly associated 💜

Empowering the Next Generation of Glow Club Leaders!
What an incredible two days! We are thrilled to announce the successful wrap-up of our in-house Mentor Training for the upcoming Glow Clubs, held on January 30th and 31st, 2026! Our dedicated team of mentors is now fully equipped and energized to begin empowering girls across our communities.
This intensive two-day session was a deep dive into the Glow CREATE Curriculum, equipping our mentors with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to facilitate transformative sessions. The training focused not just on content delivery, but on fostering supportive, safe, and engaging environments where every girl can find her voice and realize her full potential.
The mentorship program is a cornerstone of Feminature Uganda's commitment to gender equality and youth leadership. Our mentors are now ready to tackle critical thematic areas, aligning the Glow Club work with our broader mission to address Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), combat gender-based violence (GBV), and promote active citizenry among young women and girls. We also received the list of girls who will participate in the program, and we are so excited for them!
A special thank you to our partners, @GlobalGirlsGLOW for their continued collaboration and for providing the vital materials that make this program possible. This partnership ensures we are delivering a world-class, high-impact mentorship experience.
The training plan, which was submitted earlier this week, is now moving into the implementation phase. Our mentors will be heading out to officially launch the Glow Clubs soon, and we can’t wait to share their inspiring journeys and the incredible progress of the girls.
The future is bright, and it glows! Join us in cheering on our incredible mentors as they step into this transformative role!

As elections take place on 15th January, we remind all citizens that voting is a shared civic duty for both women and men. Active participation strengthens democracy and ensures that every voice counts. 💪🏾
#UgandaDecides2026
Today, we secured the commitments of the election stakeholders in Arua City towards a peaceful electoral process before, during, and after the elections in the Arua Peace Pact.
Some of the commitments include those from @NRMOnline represented by the city chairperson Hon. Sr. Bakoko Bakoru, from @NUP_Ug Asara Night, Alliance for National Transformation, Democratic Party, People's Patriotic Front, @UgandaEC@UHRC_UGANDA@MODVA_UPDF women and youth representatives, the Prime Minister of the Lugbara Kari Rt. Hon. Ismael Tuku, @VNGi, media representatives, and other civil society organisations.
Alongside peacebuilding stakeholders, we joined @feminature to promote inclusive dialogue, non-violence, and sustainable peace through the Arua Peace Pact.
The dialogue examined Arua’s conflict dynamics, the relevance of UNSCR 1325, and the critical role of women and youth in peacebuilding. A multi-stakeholder panel 🔎 discussed pre- and post-election conflict trends, root causes, and inter-generational perspectives, with calls for stronger CSO collaboration, non-partisanship, documented peace dialogues, engagement with security agencies and the @UgandaEC, and rapid response support for legal, medical, and psychosocial needs.
The event culminated in the public signing of the Arua Peace Pact, the lighting of the Peace Torch 🔥, and a renewed commitment by political, security, cultural, and religious leaders to uphold peace before, during, and after elections.

Women face daily online harassment, doxxing, revenge porn, stalking & coordinated abuse that turns virtual threats into real-world harm. Platforms must enforce swift moderation, transparent rules & real accountability to end.
