@xaviermalina@autogangnamfile I'm sorry, you can't hide behind "we kept the functionality, we just made it hard to find and continually nag you to get you to stop using it" when you get complaints like that.
@scottbelsky@xaviermalina@autogangnamfile You _are_ aware of the power of defaults and the existence of dark patterns that discourage discovery of non-default behavior, right? And how blaming the user for not discovering something that has been made difficult to discover by design is not a good look?
@sigma_47@hiawatha4all How would you design the monitoring? More data is better and I am sure FOLH would advocate for any additional testing needed at the lake.
@sigma_47@hiawatha4all What lack of flow data?
The USGS provides real time flow data for the creek.
The MPRB pumping data it is clearly kept or Barr would not have it for their memo.
@laz_versalles Whoah, that is not just a turn of phrase. Whoever said that clearly has no idea how offensive Mt. Rushmore is to many Dakota and Lakota people.
@LibertyMarieEP@hiawatha4all You're the same person who claimed I was not "from here" when I posted a meme about a park just a few blocks from my house. Mr. Forcia is much more "from here" than any non-native Minnesotan.
In Minneapolis we don't respond well to xenophobia. I suggest you take it elsewhere.
@sigma_47@hiawatha4all There is ongoing monitoring of the lake and the creek for a variety of pollutants including phosphorus. I am sure that this will continue.
@sigma_47@MinneapolisPark Those numbers are based on empirical measurements, not xpswmm modeling. Park board has been testing effluent regularly & analysis uses the measured streamflow, pumping data, and phos testing of effluent.
@sigma_47@MinneapolisPark & re residence time: Avg 4-5 days but in dry conditions (AKA "MN August") it can be as high as 47 days. At these times golf course contributes 28% (!) of phosphorus to lake.
@sigma_47@MinneapolisPark It also represents an enormous habitat loss that occurred when the course was constructed on the delta. Only a postage stamp of that is left. The 9 hole plan would restore a large amount of that habitat.
@LibertyMarieEP@sigma_47@MinneapolisPark The 9 hole plan will keep Nordic ski trails and add snowmaking with reclaimed pink water. I think the end result will be an even better Nordic ski experience. BTW I am a XC skier as well.
@widespot@hiawatha4all @LaurenMKinsey Your "actually" suggests that the document claimed otherwise. In fact, it makes it very clear that 1 foot is possible (though expensive) and that it is a moot point anyhow since it would make little difference in terms of the flooding and water issues to do so.
Just a reminder that the MPRB has not only carefully studied options for 18 holes and wasn't able to figure out how they could be done, but the golfers did their level best last spring and produced what can only be described as an epic engineering fail.
Barr Engineering has completed a contracted review of the golfers' 18-hole proposal for Hiawatha, and it is *relentless*. Section after section discrediting the inaccurate claims made by this proposal. A π§΅.

@stribrooks@shijundu
@CalebMi41410113@stribrooks Sol Hughes was already a pro when he moved to Minnesota & was initially denied employment at Hiawatha due to his race. Hiawatha was important to him, but it did not "produce" him. Respect this vital history by representing it accurately.
Hope you enjoyed your moment of zen, now it's time to be angry again. There were so many myths we couldn't fit them all on our myths page so we made a whole document: https://t.co/biRLB9eBgr
