Kakâ sa Yawan (‘26, Habon): Too invested in the Manila kid’s coming-of-age, leaving the Mangyan character secondary—and unfortunately, on a tragic trajectory. Charming, but I wish the film gave the Mangyan character more agency beyond being part of someone else’s growing up.
