We can’t be afraid to call people to excellence. Lowering expectations does not make them or things better. Yes, show grace and have compassion, but don’t neglect your responsibility to push, support, and hold them higher.

Dear educators,
I quickly want to thank you for the remarkable work you do every day for my child. He can be a handful but he is not one your neediest students.
Unless you're willing to invest a lot of time to interviewing individuals OR you're willing to ignore a ton of fairness issues, it would for schools to make their distance classes pass/fail. Or de facto plass/fail. Grade on effort, attendance, overall quality of finished work.

Based upon the Governor’s announcement, Clarkston Schools will be closed immediately through spring break. We will be communicating with families in more detail tomorrow.
Americans: if you are sick with fever/cough/ flu symptoms, please don’t go to work!
Employers: PLEASE understand giving your employees flexibility and (paid) sick leave will save you money in the long run- it’s much cheaper than shutting down because everyone else gets sick!
