"Somehow it's O.K. for people to chuckle about not being good at math. Yet if I said, 'I never learned to read,' they'd say I was an illiterate dolt." @NeilTyson #MTBoS #iteachmath
Take it from a man who has walked on the Moon:
- Be careful what you dream: it just might come to pass, so be prepared.
- Maintain your spirit of adventure.
- Failure is always an option.
- Trust your gut … and your instruments.

The older the stds you teach, the greater responsibility you have to address false beliefs learners hold about their potential & shift cultural beliefs about maths that students absorb. High school & college tchrs - this may not be why you went into tchg but it is so important!

@dolphinsdana had an amazing day yesterday, creating our own dots with our aspirations inside of them. Inspired by @peterhreynolds , our 'Dot Day' was a success! Stay tuned to see our school wide mural! @DotClubConnect
Life has thrown me a few curve balls recently. I have learnt that it is not being tough that gets you through these situations but being flexible. Being adaptable and bending with the knocks allows you to keep going.
