After learning about our community, we collaboratively created our version of the City of Richmond! Each student brainstormed what they wanted to create. All I did was make the road and Fraser River. The rest was created by the students!

What words start with the letter M or have a short "m" sound? After creating this long list together, K/1 students wrote their favourite word on a cue card & drew a picture of the word.
My students were SO proud of their weaving art. They made their own cardboard looms, learned how to weave with yarn and chose their own sticks from outside. They did such a good job. I'm so proud! #sd38learn
Partners were tasked to read and create a web about how indigenous people were connected to plants OR animals. Through a jigsaw activity, they shared their information with another group who did a different topic. I love seeing students learn from each other!
