Not surprising. Her constituents conflate accountability with taking pictures and a measly "sorry" as if she was late for meeting when lives are at stake.

A Tshwane whistleblower has told me that the chlorine supply tender isn't actually a proper tender. It actually expired last year. The city is procuring chlorine on a month to month basis.

That's why there was a price dispute, because the supplier can easily restrict supply on this critical chemical at a moments notice. I understand they are the only supplier for the entire city which makes it even more problematic.

Worst still, apparently Roodeplaat Water Treatment plant which supplies water to Pretoria North has less than 2 weeks left of chlorine. It is not clear when more will be delivered.

I am told that the Mayor's office despite taking political responsibility for water treatment operations as never sought to get any reports on the chlorine tender or stockpiles.

I have sent this on to some journalists to investigate. I believe urgent oversight visits are needed at all existing Tshwane water treatment plants.

The MMC of Health in Tshwane has absolutely no idea that she has an overarching responsibility over water quality in the City.

You know why? She spent the entire term going around collecting rent and harassing elderly people raising genuine concerns over the unmitigated influx of undocumented & illegal foreign nationals in Tshwane healthcare facilities.

She must equally account for the many innocent lives they put at risk!🤷🏾

The EFF opened a case against Cilliers Brink and held him accountable. We even protested in council in solidarity with the people of Hammanskraal and in defence of their right to access clean, safe drinking water.

One thing you can never take away from the EFF is our consistency and our fearlessness in holding the Executive accountable, regardless of their race or political affiliation.

His love for black people,regardless of where they come from, is fuelled by his lived experience. He is not perfect but he genuinely loves Black people, particularly Black poor people. Look at the programmes the EFF has, its objective is to restore the dignity of the marginalised people.
