Loss of life (young life at that) brought about by avoidable circumstances that the victims were exposed to by authority figures that were supposed to care and nurture them - is a tragedy that requires accountability. No it won’t bring back Divine and Rene, but we cannot allow people in power to be protected when their authority and status were wielded to put young men in precarious situations that took their lives. There’s anecdotes on record of precedent, there’s a grieving mother asking for the most basic details amid official statements saying they are ‘working closely’ with the families.
Investigate this to the fullest. Basketball is by no means more important than protecting our young people, most especially those who come from backgrounds that force them and their families to look at a roster spot, game minutes, a coaching staff’s favor and approval - as tickets to a better life.
Pay close attention to who says what, if anything at all. If you’re not enraged by the avoidable accident that took the lives of two young men, if your instinct is to protect an institution’s reputation over condemning those responosible for two boys dying, if you would rather be silent because you’re worried about relationships or your place in the industry, then you’re part of the problem.
This was avoidable. This was negligent. It’s only basketball, ffs. There are people responsible. Hold them accountable.
The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) claims that the June 3 senate power grab was lawful and valid.
This is the same IBP that allowed the BIKOY press conference in their own backyard.
NEVER FORGET, PEOPLE.
People without children often hear this line as judgment. It is not. It is simply truth, said softly.
You can live a full life without a child. You can travel, build, earn, heal, and enjoy freedom. All of that is real. But there is a dimension you will never touch until you become responsible for a life that exists because of you.
A child changes the axis of time.
Suddenly, the future is not abstract. It has a face, a voice, and tiny hands holding your finger.
You learn a kind of love that is not romantic, not transactional, not conditional. A love that shows up even when you are tired, broke, scared, or failing. A love that humbles you daily and strengthens you quietly.
You start measuring success differently.
Not by applause. Not by money.
But by whether you are becoming someone your child can feel safe with and proud of.
Children force growth. They expose your impatience, your selfishness, your unresolved wounds. And then they give you a reason to fix them. Not tomorrow. Today.
Legacy stops being a word and becomes a responsibility.
You realize you are not just living your life.
You are shaping a human who will walk the world long after you are gone.
People without children are not missing happiness.
They are missing this specific depth of meaning.
And you do not know it is missing
until it arrives.
I saw some comments throwing hate at Filipinos for supporting a “mid-player”. We know Alex Eala is not there yet but it’s called “bayanihan”bonds. That’s our people out there and we show up, win or lose. She’s made history for country & we think she deserves our support.
Hugh Grant: "It's been very, very depressing watching Big Tech kidnap their lives, and to see children really finding it very, very difficult to get properly interested in anything that isn't a screen."
Luxuries we forget are luxuries:
1. Your mom still around
2. Hot water
3. Feeling healthy
4. Peace of mind and heart
5. Perfect-weather days
6. Good food
7. Morning coffee ☕
15 things to do with your father while he is still alive. I lost mine 8 years ago.
1. Ask him what he was like at your age because once he was the same age you are right now & Watch his face light up as he tells you stories from when he was younger
2. Record his laugh when he tells one of his signature jokes. Someday you will replay the video over and over just to hear it again
3. Ask him about the proudest moment of his life. (Odds are he will say when you were born)
4. Ask him his favourite songs
Listen to them together, laugh, sing and be happy. These will become your most cherished memories in years to come
5. Take a picture of him doing something he loves. Watching tv, gardening, playing the guitar, anything. When you look back these will be the pictures that will make you smile the most
6. Tell him you love him even if it's something you don't normally do.
7. Tell him you are proud to be his son/daughter This will mean more to him than you realise (even if he doesn't show it)
8. Listen to music from his youth and watch him turn from dad into a young man again
9. Take a short video of him talking about something random sacred Someday even the ordinary things he said become
10. Bring up something you are thankful for from years ago
11. Ask him what it was like for him growing up
12. Call him for no reason
Don't take being able to do this for granted.
Someday you would give anything to hear his voice again.
13. Take a picture of just the 2 of you together
14. Ask him to show you an old photo of him because seeing him young will remind you that he wasn't always Dad
15. Tell him something you are struggling with, no matter what age you are Because even when your grown it means the world to him to feel like he can still help
Let him give you advice, even if you don't need it because one day you will give anything to hear his voice guiding you again
Luxuries that don’t look like luxuries, but are:
1. Having your mom alive
2. Taking hot showers
3. Good health
4. Mental, emotional, and spiritual peace
5. Mild days. Not too cold, not too hot
6. Living 10 minutes from work
7. Living 5 minutes from the gym
8. Having quiet neighbors
9. Having money left at the end of the month and investing it
10. Peace at home
11. Drinking coffee without rushing
12. Sleeping with a clear conscience
13. Laughing with people who truly get you
14. Traveling every year
15. Waking up naturally without an alarm
16. Enjoying a home-cooked meal with loved ones
17. Having time to read a book in one sitting
18. Finding joy in simple daily routines
19. Having a pet that greets you happily at the door
20. Good food
21. Enjoying coffee in the morning
22. A good night's sleep
23. Clean air to breathe
24. Time to yourself without obligations
True wealth is simple daily joys.
“When I am gone, do not fear my memory. Do not be afraid to speak my name or look through old photographs. Do not be scared to play old videos so that you might hear my voice and see me laughing. Do not be wary of visiting my favourite places or eating my favourite foods or singing along to my favourite songs.
I know it will hurt. Those memories will remind you that I am gone. They will stab at you like a knife in an open, gaping wound. Raw, excruciating pain.
But after a while the knife will become less sharp, the wound will become less open and the pain will become less raw. And those memories will remind you that I was here. That I lived.
Do not reduce my life to my death. Speak my name, hear my voice, sing my favourite songs and visit my favourite places. Because that’s how I can stay alive a little. Right here with you.” 🧡
Memories are the legacy of love.

No matter where you go, Bali, Monaco, New Zealand, Switzerland, or even the most luxurious and peaceful places in the world, after 4–5 days, the feeling slowly becomes the same.
Because you are still carrying yourself with you.
Bali can feel spiritual, Monaco can feel elite and luxurious, and New Zealand can feel calm and untouched, but none of them can permanently fix what is unsettled inside you.
If your inner self is not aligned, every place eventually feels familiar.
The excitement fades, the scenery becomes normal, and the same thoughts return, just in a different location.
That’s when you understand a simple truth.
Most escapes are not solutions. They are distractions.
If you don’t work on your inner world, even the most beautiful destination becomes temporary relief.
But when your inner self is stable and clear, even an ordinary place feels peaceful.
You are not traveling away from your problems.
You are traveling with them.
Fix your inner self first.
Everything else follows.
After a certain age, your parents slowly become your children.
They ask simple questions, repeat stories, and depend on your patience the way you once depended on theirs. Very few understand this role reversal. What looks like innocence or inconvenience is really time coming full circle. Don’t correct them harshly. Don’t rush them. Care for them the way they once protected you. This is not a burden. It is repayment, quietly wrapped as love.
Stop painting the DDS as unprincipled. We supported BBM because he promised to continue everything FPRRD started. Digong ended his term with record-high trust and approval ratings. Anyone who vowed to carry on his legacy was bound to win.
BBM broke that promise. So we dumped him. That’s called principle.
Meanwhile, the Kakampukes spent decades chanting “Marcos Magnanakaw.” Now that BBM has proven them right, they suddenly can’t call him a plunderer. What gives?
When life is hard and the world seems dark and gloomy, I always rest with this thought in my mind that all things work out for the good of those who love God and trust in His Sovereignty. It's better to have a positive and hopeful disposition.
The appointment of Remulla as Ombudsman only amplifies what we’ve long known: this government protects its own and weaponizes state machinery against its political enemies.
What’s even more revealing is how some Kakampinks are celebrating his appointment, not because they believe in accountability, but because they think it brings them closer to Sara’s downfall. They don’t care that the real architects of corruption continue to walk free.
To the Kakampinks, there’s apparently no limit to how much BBM and his allies can steal. Even if we assume that every politician is corrupt, they know that Sara is the least guilty here. But no, she can’t be allowed to constitutionally succeed. Over their dead bodies.
So let BBM continue the plunder. Because on the Kakampink list of national problems, it’s always Sara first, corruption last. To them, corruption is never a problem, the Duterte name is.
