Flipgrid is an interactive video platform where teachers can pose questions and students can post video responses. Students in Ms. Jacobs' GATE Resource class answered the question "What if the honey bees were extinct?" using Flipgrid.

When we micromanage the learning environment, we do a disservice to our students. We strip them of the opportunity to become self-regulated and self-aware young adults. It may be intimidating to release control, but it is profoundly important.
Ms. Jacobs facilitated an interview with a meteorologist for 4th grade students. WTOC's meteorologist, Andrew Gorton, participated in a Q&A session with students. He answered questions about weather instruments, forecasting, fronts, clouds and extended students' learning.
🔢 Let students know you’ll be asking them to retell different parts of a YouTube video. After the first viewing, display the video so the class can see it. With the video paused, press a number key. Invite students to retell what is happening at that point in the video.
