It fits perfectly with our Environmental Unit that is coming up at the end of the week! I love telling my students about new areas of research that have such relatable and positive potentials.

Hey @charmeckschools Biology teachers! This article might be a cool to use to do some flashbacks! Q1) What excites you the most about this? https://t.co/mIUKp1mDaD #CMSSCi612 @stocking_cms @BigI_Heel @MrsAKeith @the_Dewdly @missgasser @MissEscotoSci @Ms_KRamsey @Mrs_OTScience https://t.co/DCxSytK8JK

Also, Bio 2.1.3 (how organisms interact with their environment) depending on how you frame it!

@CMS612Science @ENERGY @MsKimMayes @MsDixonEES @MsFields704 @stocking_cms @MrsAKeith @Ms_Kinsaka @the_Dewdly @missgasser @MsShade1 @MissEscotoSci @Jazziotomic I love how this article makes the analogy between the technological sensors and the human sense of smell! Since our students are familiar with specialized tissues like the neurons mentioned, I think the analogy will contribute to an easier comprehension of the content.

@CMS612Science @MrsAKeith @stocking_cms @the_Dewdly @missgasser @MissEscotoSci @MsShade1 @MsKimMayes @MsDixonEES @MsFields704 @CharMeckSchools I think the comparison of the gps trackers to social media will be interesting for them. Especially since cell phones are such a huge part of youth culture. I could see the discussion leading towards how their own actions fall under ‘animal behavior’ #realworldconnections

@CMS612Science @MrsAKeith @stocking_cms @the_Dewdly @missgasser @MissEscotoSci @MsShade1 @MsKimMayes @MsDixonEES @MsFields704 @CharMeckSchools Typically both Ecology and Animal behavior come in the same unit towards the end of the course, right before the EOC. However, we do a short Ecology intro around Unit 4 as well! So I’ll definitely keep this in mind as a re-visit for future classes!

[Ms. Ramsey @Ms_KRamsey]

@CMS612Science @CharMeckSchools Aligns with NC Bio 2.1.3: Explain the various ways organisms interact with each other and their environments! 🌱 #ecology
