As a survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre, Viola Ford Fletcher bravely shared her story so that we’d never forget this painful part of our history. Michelle and I are grateful for her lifelong work to advance civil rights, and send our love to her family. https://t.co/km7RXnDKcW
I know it can feel like a different era sometimes. But fifteen years ago, I signed the Affordable Care Act into law. Now nearly 50 million people have received health care through the ACA.
With everything going on right now, it’s easy to feel like regular folks can’t make a difference – but the Affordable Care Act is a reminder that change is possible when we keep fighting for progress.
Through struggle and discipline, persistence and faith, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. helped move this country forward. As we honor his legacy today, let’s remember the lesson he taught us: that even in the face of impossible odds, people who love this country can help change it. In honor of #MLKDay, I hope you’ll do what you can in your community to create a better future for us all.
Four years ago, in the middle of a pandemic, we needed a leader with the character to put politics aside and do what was right. That’s what @JoeBiden did.
At a time when our economy was reeling, he drove what would become the world’s strongest recovery – with 17 million new jobs, historic wage gains, and lower health care costs. He passed landmark legislation to rebuild our nation’s infrastructure and address the threat of climate change.
I’m grateful to Joe for his leadership, his friendship, and his lifetime of service to this country we love.
Happy New Year 2025, everyone. 2024 was rough, but lessons learned, let's move forward into our year of health, grace, compassion, hope, prayers, success, and happiness!
President Carter taught all of us what it means to live a life of grace, dignity, justice, and service. Michelle and I send our thoughts and prayers to the Carter family, and everyone who loved and learned from this remarkable man. https://t.co/dZHL0Nu0Tj

I always look forward to sharing my annual list of favorite books, movies, and music. Today I’ll start by sharing some of the books that have stuck with me long after I finished reading them.
Check them out this holiday season, preferably at an independent bookstore or library!
Please boost this, I want people to know that their words and actions genuinely do hurt more than they could possibly imagine.
I have an invisible disability.
Today, while riding the tube, I had an entitled white woman come up to me and demand that I get up.
When I told her I have a heart condition, she kissed her teeth at me, said “of course you do, liar” and then started talking about “those people”, as in POC.
This happened directly in public.
I’m now devastated as not only was I publicly abused, with no one standing to my defence, but I also now feel very unsafe leaving the house.
please be kind. it doesn’t hurt you to show kindness.
@shitshopeless I am so sorry that happened to you. It happened to me a lot. People don't understand or care when they can't see certain disabilities. I pray for your peace, mercy, and grace. Thank you for sharing.
