This hasn’t been the case for me personally. I think what’s changed is actually the fake proximity social media creates, and how that warps friendship perceptions.
I think our elders didn’t do a good job at modeling how friendship changes from adolescence/young adulthood to 30s and beyond. A lot of us think friendships are supposed to look & feel like they did when we were in high-school & college. & thats just not realistic.
@Deji_Best Do they put caveats in whereby you have to make it your main account? Martin Lewis is always tempting me to switch by the time I see the Ts&Cs I can no longer be bothered
in the UK you’ll notice this obsession with proximity to success. Anyone with a bit of clout is somehow “their mate”, but when it comes to actually championing people, the energy gets very strange
My toxic and most delusional trait is that I truly believe I can be an influencer, I just don’t have the energy to repackage what I believe is mostly common sense.
This is what social media all about…kindness, support and community. Van is still basking in the amazing gesture she received from @t0nit0ne and @taye9ja . Thanks guys ❤️😘

Financial curiosity is “bad vibes” because what exactly? Asking how people make their money should not get ppl shaking, it's literally a data point.
Instead its endless debates about whether £50k is a “high salary” while treating any practical discussion on money like a moral failing.
Women get so dramatic about everything loool the girl is a public figure who openly posts what she does, what’s so strange and bad vibes about wondering how she does it?
@mabintou I really hope we can teach the current growing and future generations how to build and maintain relationships and networks.
I think of how my parents gen have wide networks due to who their parents were around growing up.
@funkomi If it’s who I think it is, my guess is a combination of good cash bonuses, no kids, and a sprinkle of rich parents. At least that’s the story I tell myself!
