Congrats to the recent @ubcokanagan clinical psychology graduates! Having 5 new psychologists who have been trained to properly assess, diagnose, & deliver evidence-based treatment to those struggling with their mental & behavioural health will positively impact the lives of many
The FDA’s MDMA adcom was an excellent example of why ideological conflicts of interest should be declared in science. If you’re “anti corporadelic” because your end goal is decriminalizing psychedelics, panelists need to know that as much as they need to know about financial COIs
Thank you @ubcokanagan for the recognition of a 2024 Researcher of the Year! This is sig. in acknowledging that just like cardiovascular health, mental health is an equally important factor that impacts health outcomes. Congratulations to my colleagues Drs. Ford & Wong! #bcpoli

UBCO #Psychology Professor Dr. Lesley Lutes says a doctor’s office should be a one-stop shop for all of your health-care needs in a recent #VancouverSun op-ed. https://t.co/F4HCiVFEtW
Link in image ⬇️ to Dr. Penner’s interview with @richardzussman on integrating psychologists into primary care. We need transformative meaningful change in how we approach the treatment of mental & behavioural health. As contracted providers, psychologists can support this change
@tomhudock@the_CORE_ubco@fass_ubco@DavidSuzukiFDN That same review stated "Case studies have documented... an overall higher risk for lung injury... Inconsistent evidence for the association between cannabis smoking and lung cancer." Not exactly smoke 'em if you got 'em but not as dire as tobacco effects.
@tomhudock@the_CORE_ubco@fass_ubco@DavidSuzukiFDN There are risks to smoking anything. To reduce harms, use a vaporizer or ingest. A 2018 review found acute and chronic harms of weed smoking but "respiratory symptoms have been found to decrease or even fully remit among those who reduce or quit" See https://t.co/Ho0MKwX12z
