Getting Spooky with Colour Theory! Here we are learning how to create tints and blend colours. We also created spooky stories to accompany our haunted houses. Such Fun!

@janeteacher2 Agreed! I was so impressed with them (grade 2/3). The paper I gave them had a hexagon for the umbrella but next time I would have them draw everything and maybe outline using a black marker. We did the raincoat and boots as a directed drawing activity.

Last week was a perfect time to explore 'Colour Theory'! Primary colours (red, yellow and blue) and secondary colours (orange, purple and green) filled the umbrella followed by drawing themselves dressed for the rain. Such fun!

Such a great initiative! Last year Bridgeview Elem began a pallet garden project. With the help of HCTF we were able to purchase soil, seeds, tarps, a wagon and more. We can’t wait to get back at it in September.

As part of our exploration of Global Cultures, Div. 5 is learning about the ancient craft of weaving in a collaborative project with @MsWrightSD36. Weaving is an important part of many Indigenous cultures around the world and right here in BC. Is weaving part of your heritage?

It's National Poetry Month! To celebrate we will be reading and writing a variety of poems. Can't wait to get started!

Look who arrived in our class today . . . 'Desk Pets'.

Each student choose a pet that would become their own, gave it a name and wrote a journal entry to tell all about it. What a fun day! Ask your child to tell you about their new 'Desk Pet'.

Here are our latest art projects! We’ve been learning how to tint colours by adding increasing amounts of blue to the white paint. Using this new technique we created a moonlit sky as seen from beneath the surface of the sea and added in a few sea life silhouettes. Amazing!
