A very dull answer to a very intelligent and valid question.
This man rebranded his sheer misogyny, disrespect & contempt for women as God’s truth, telling lies while quoting Scripture to back them up.
He did not answer her question. Instead, he used the moment to display how little he thinks of women, making foolish points he tried to portray as “biblical.” He told a congregation full of women that women are the cause of the world’s chaos, societal decay, and that women have caused more havoc than men, then used scripture to justify it. This is misogyny.
Using his supposed “maths analogy,” the sin Scripture repeatedly and extensively warns against is not sexual immorality but idolatry: abandoning God and worshipping other gods. God repeatedly warned Israel against it, became angry over it, and repeatedly judged them for it.
The Old Testament used the language of adultery, prostitution and sexual unfaithfulness to describe Israel’s relationship with other gods. It is a metaphor for idolatry and covenant unfaithfulness. God uses the human experience of marital betrayal to communicate how Israel’s spiritual unfaithfulness feels to Him. The metaphor does not mean women or women’s bodies are inherently sinful or the source of sin.
The Bible condemns oppression, violence, murder, greed, pride, anger, injustice, dishonesty, covetousness, hypocrisy, exploitation and abuse of power. Scripture is not centred on sexual immorality. Yet in church, sexual immorality, particularly women’s sexuality, is often made the centre of morality and the gospel.
Even Proverbs does not support this pastor’s argument. Proverbs contains roughly nine major passages warning about the adulterous or forbidden woman, while repeatedly warning against foolish men, violent men, angry people, dishonest men, greedy men and men who cause strife.
If you have studied the Bible, you would know that a rough count of biblical villains gives us about 10–15 female villains versus well over 70 named male villains. This further demonstrates how absurd and dishonest it is to claim that Scripture portrays women as the primary source of sin or human wickedness.
Sexual immorality is a sin for both sexes. The Bible commands Men explicitly to flee from it and exercise self-control. Jesus addressed lust by holding the person lusting responsible for his own heart.
The Bible condemns sin. It does not teach that women are the source of sin or problem of the world.
When a pastor takes his personal misogyny, wraps it in Bible verses and presents it to women as God’s truth, he is not defending Scripture. He is misleading the very people he is supposed to teach.
A young girl asked in church why preachers and society always focus on women’s morality. There is so much advice that a woman should be chaste, keep her virginity and curtail lust, but they never do the same to men.
The pastor said Satan uses women a lot to bring decay to society. A woman can easily influence a man, so if she lives a life Satan cannot use, she will protect the man. He also said women carry 70% of sins while men carry only 30%.
These are the kind of patriarchal teachings and conditioning they give to the girl child while the boy child can just zuzuwe, I wish people will open their eyes and see the bias in all these teachings.

Nigerians must come out
A child who memorizes a psalm at age 7 might not understand it.
But at seventeen, in the middle of the night, when the world is pressing in and he doesn't know what to do, the words might surface at the precise moment he needs them. They will be there because you put them there.
This is the work of a parent. You are planting things for your children that might not bloom for a decade (or more). Scripture, poetry, the great speeches of greater men.
Being a Christian yet a tribalistic person is a contradiction. If you look down on someone because of where they come from, you have not yet fully encountered the gospel of Jesus Christ. End tribalism in Nigeria.
Happy Sunday.
I’m tired of watching people use this verse to justify hurting kids, because the verse doesn’t even say what they think it says.
First, “spare the rod, spoil the child” isn’t in the Bible. It’s not scripture.
It comes from a 1662 satirical poem called Hudibras by Samuel Butler.
People have been quoting a joke as if it’s the word of God for 350 years.
The actual verse, Proverbs 13:24, reads:
“Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.”
It’s not saying “beat your kid.” It’s saying love and correction go together.
A parent who never corrects isn’t loving, they’re neglecting.
Now the word “rod.” In Hebrew it’s shebet.
Same word shows up in Psalm 23: “your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
That’s a shepherd’s tool. A shepherd uses the rod to guide the flock, protect them from predators, steer them back when they wander. He’s not out there beating his sheep. The whole image is guidance and protection.
Discipline comes from the Latin disciplina, which means to teach, to instruct.
A disciple is a student. Discipline means you’re teaching someone.
Beating a child teaches them nothing except fear.
Spanking doesn’t correct behavior, it just punishes the body.
If we continue like this, our kids will come back to whatever app that exists in the next 20 years saying the exact same things.
It's another cold rainy day to remind you that some kids as young as 2 years, with their teachers, are somewhere in the forest in Oyo state with kidnappers. 😭
We cannot and MUST NOT allow our conscience as a nation get used to these killings by terrorists!! We CANNOT!!! We CANNOT!!! Oh God!! We CANNOT!!!! Ahhhh!!!! Jesus!!!!
For humanity sake. Help save this young child battling with Kidney disease. It won't cost a thing for you to repost it until he gets the needed help.
Show a little kindness!
He has a typical Nigerian mentality! He doesn’t think of himself being a victim. He has not thought of the terrorists kidnapping and sleeping with him.
It is this very selfish mindset that has not made us realise as a Nation that we are all victims waiting to happen.
The very mindset that make many cry out that they never thought Nigeria will happen to them.
As in?! Special being with patent to prayers! Oshe!!!!
