I don't know if things developed more since then. I saw nothing else.

@OtteracresRae And, my obvious bias aside, SB *was* a great addition to the season and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't *think* we'll see him again, but I *hope* for one last cameo later on anyways :).

Finally watched the Boys season finale. Very "epic", but strangely, I think it was also underwhelming.

The biggest problem (for me) is the show's need to return to the status quo. I get that HL is the show basically, so I didn't even entertain the thought of him dying, but...

@OtteracresRae Maeve was MVP, and it did make me laugh a bit that another metal bar was at work, this time used by the Queen Maeve herself.

And HL & Ryan angle is a terrifying, yet narratively exciting plot. I bet Butcher will kick himself for not paying more attention to that.

My slightly underwhelming feelings about the season finale and return to the (partial) status quo aside, the season was wonderful.

SB is a standout, and Jensen Ackles nailed it. It was great to see him on the screen again after so long.

I think it's a narrative failing of the show to say that SB is the most immediate threat. That was a ridiculous notion. They took down SB as easily as they could. Good job doing the same to HL.

@sensitiveham Maybe it was to show contrast Hughie's attitude at the end of the episode? I don't know, we'll see.

I'll say that Kimiko getting shot in the head earlier got a bigger reaction from me though. I genuinely didn't expect that. When Kimiko saved Frenchie, I was thinking "Oh, good."

@sensitiveham Same. And I'm firmly in the "Don't hurt Kimiko or else!" camp but the present danger (!) was so unbelievably serious that I wasn't even that upset about Kimiko not healing at that moment. She will be definitely fine, so I'm not sure why they went with that cliffhanger.

@OtteracresRae @toastedtoad Superfans (of the show and/or any of the actor(s) in general) were disappointed, rightfully so, but I imagine their numbers don't make too much difference in Amazon's numbers as a whole. And "unofficial sources" have always been a thing people always look for.

I can't help but think that a power that neutralizes other powers, that was also used against SB himself, would have a chance to neutralize SB's own powers too, whenever he's using them. Or maybe I'm overthinking it, lol.

Ultimately though, I doubt Soldier Boy will be able to kill Homelander, even though HL seems unstable. In the mean time, Soldier Boy better not harm Kimiko, because my JA fan status will not be able to keep me from cursing SB through my screen! 😜

So, Soldier Boy's powers are not just a Captain America copy, upgraded or not. I expected upper strength AND invulnerability, but the energy blast surprised me. Before, I was imagining scenarios in which he would tear off a few limbs from Homelander, lol.

Now I think he and HL actually have the same power set, but SB's powers might be wilder and unpredictable, hence getting frozen. HL might have been the product of years of lab work by scientists trying to create a controllable SB. (Obviously, they failed.)
