“I always said I was anti-Zionist but not antisemitic”
Taryn Thomas used to join campus protests at Stanford where students called Israel’s war with Hamas a genocide.
Then, she attended the Nova exhibit, and learned for the first time about what actually happened on October 7th.
Now, she realizes, those protests “had already decided how the story was going to end,” before Israel even responded to the massacre.
This is exactly why Free Palestine protests the Nova exhibit wherever it opens.
They are afraid that if more people learn the truth, their movement will run out of support.

OMG I can't believe I'm saying this, but....go John Kirby?
TV Globo’s @RKrahenbuhl: “So, besides saying that he doesn't have confidence in these numbers, the President went further to say that innocents will die and that this is the price of the war. You also said that.”
Kirby: “I have indeed.”
Krähenbühl: “Don't you think this is insensitive? There’s being very harsh criticism in about it. For example, the Council of American-Islamic Relations said it was deeply disturbed and call on the President to apologize. Would the President apologize?”
Kirby: “No.”
Krähenbühl: “And does he regret saying something like that?”
Kirby: “What’s harsh — what’s harsh is the way Hamas is using people as human shields. What’s harsh is taking a couple of hundred hostages and leaving families and anxious, waiting and worrying to figure out where their loved ones are. What's harsh, is dropping in on a music festival and slaughtering a bunch of young people just trying to enjoy an afternoon. I could go on and on. That's what's harsh. That is what's harsh and being honest about the fact that there have been civilian casualties and that there likely will be more is being honest, because that's what war is. It's brutal. It's ugly. It's messy. I've said that before. President also said that yesterday. Doesn't mean we have to like it. And it doesn't mean that we're dismissing anyone of those casualties each and every one is a tragedy in its own right...It would be helpful if Hamas would let [Gazans] leave....We know that there are thousands waiting to leave Gaza writ large and Hamas is preventing them from doing it. That is what is harsh.”
Israel is the only country you can terrorize, butcher its people, and kidnap its children - and then watch massive protests take place AGAINST the country that was attacked.
This didn’t happen to the US, or Spain, or Ukraine or other nations hit by terror. Only Jewish Israel.
Any comment @RashidaTlaib on this brutal murder? Isn't this your city? Almost all politicians have spoke about this tragedy. Your silence is deafening.
It's really easy: You want #Israel to stop the war in Gaza?
Make #Hamas agree to an immediate, unconditional and permanent peace (not a ceasefire) with Israel.
Let's see who wants peace and who wants war.
A lot of people getting fired because they seem unable to contain themselves from publicly posting about how they want to murder Jews. Aside from being bigots and terrible people, you have to be pretty dumb to put yourself in that position.
The people who spent the last many years demanding censorship of "misinformation" and "disinformation" have spent 24 hours spreading horrific and damaging unverified allegations pushed by a terrorist organisation as the truth on their gigantic platforms.
Not a word condemning Islamic Jihad for causing the hospital explosion in Gaza and killing hundreds of Palestinian civilians.
Not a word from the UN.
Not a word from Israel’s usual critics, who rushed to judgement with a blood libel.
Not a word from Hamas (no surprises).
The sudden silence is deafening.
If you think the death of Palestinians is cause for outrage only when Israel is the accused, then you are not pro-Palestinian. You are simply anti-Israel. There is a difference.
If you posted about the Gaza hospital bombing when you thought it was Israel, but you can’t bring yourself to say a word when you found out it wasn’t Israel, you need to take a deep look inwards.
Is there ANY place that I can get accurate news? We are living in a dark time when giants like @nytimes and @washingtonpost rush to conclusions in trying to keep pace with social media. Social media is not a credible news source. Please folks guide me to a place where I can get well sourced information.
The story of the hospital strike tells us a lot not just about media itself, but also about all of us, the consumers.
Unfortunately, too many people do not actually want the press to report the truth.
They want the press to report only those stories that confirm their beliefs.
