.@Pattonville_HS's Writers Week is a celebration of writing in all forms. To kick off this year’s event, fourth graders from Rose Acres shared some of their original work. During the next session, staff members presented some of their own writing. PHOTOS https://t.co/AdquLp3gfK
I also love how lots of students would know much more about this than me! I could appoint some "experts" who closely follow sports news to get the rest of the class up to speed but also value their non-academic interests. #TSUEngMAE
Thinking about Dinkins and engaging students through sports in the ELA classroom. Especially considering all the "controversial" activism in the NBA this summer, there's definitely a way to tie in a conversation about censorship and the sports industry in general #TSUEngMAE
Made some book club plans this weekend for Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and The Poet X. Both are packed with intersectionality, family conflict, & realities of growing up. So excited to discuss these with students! #TSUEngMAE
@KatieWestTSU #TSUEngMAE I'm the same way! I hardly ever read nonfiction for fun, but the CNF class convinced me to check it out more, and it's clear that I've underrated it. I can't wait to explore more NF for my classroom and personal enjoyment.
.@GovParsonMO says it’s time for personal responsibility to combat COVID-19.
We take personal responsibility & wear our masks, but when others don’t, that puts us at risk.
It’s time for the governor to take personal responsibility for this crisis & implement a mask mandate.
@summerpennell As someone who's living with someone who tested positive bc she works at a public school while wearing a mask, this makes me super angry.
@madel_padel Love this! Reading C & L this morning and they advocate for developing "a disposition for using good information" in students. This disposition is essential for the health of our democracy! #TSUEngMAE
Van, thank you for expressing the sorrow and relief that we all feel. My hope is that those who hoped for a different outcome will take a moment to empathize with the pain so many of us have felt over the past four years.
