Some footage of my kinders & I playing virtual hide & seek this weekhide their pictures behind the clip art & everyone becomes a seeker. They unmute and read the word of the place they want to search for their friend. Virtual kindergarten is still SO fun ❤️ #cvslearn
I appreciate admin and districts who give teachers time to plan and collaborate DURING the school day. This is more important than most meetings. This shows they value teachers' time professionally and personally (evenings and weekend).
It’s not just students who need Maslow. Teachers need:
1) feel safe / supported
2) emotional connection/ relationships
3) feel respected
4) attention/ appreciation
5) value within the team
6) Volition/ autonomy
7) innovation/ creativity
8) self care
Strongly suggest teachers leave their asynchronous assignment due dates through the weekend instead of a Friday due date. Parents might only be able to help on weekends and kids need time to internalize the habit of managing and completing offline work.
@jillybean1128 When I was placed in your classroom and reading one on one with students, they often spoke about wanting to do their best because of how you saw the best in them. 💕 One of my favorite educational experiences. You embody this!! 😊
I am up bright and early this morning writing and thinking about how I miss my kindergartners saying, slowly as I model writing my name on my paper, “JoAnna...Ms. B....Basoukeas”
(I never wrote the Ms. B in the middle but they always threw it in there) 💕
