When you get videos of a student reading on a Saturday afternoonโฆ you celebrate! This student was diagnosed with dyslexia over the summer. Mom wanted to have her taken off tier 1 and put in special ed. I pleaded with her to give me time, two months later and this ๐๐๐๐
Is there anything better than progress monitoring on a Friday and seeing your students thrive with explicit instruction and rigorous intervention? #scienceofreading#structuredliteracy
Itโs Friday. Itโs been a long week but listening to this new @ehanford podcast gives me the energy to power through today. This is why I come to work everyday. My passion.
@mneyra@amazon Hello! I am a first grade teacher from MI. Our playground was recently destroyed by fire (kids shooting fireworks off). I am so sad for our students. Thank you for helping bring joy to their upcoming school year! #clearthelist#clearthelist2022 https://t.co/HOvyh5ZpBj

Top Ten Tools debrief with @debglaser was so wonderful today! Having face to face PD with such a knowledgeable reading guru was the best way to spend the morning. I left with so many application ideas and new learning that will make me a better teacher. #scienceofreading
This is ๐ฏ% the reason I made the switch to 1st grade last year. The gaps keep widening folks! Students need explicit and systematic instruction based on science and research. #scienceofreading
@SpeechieTeach_ Same! I did this while teaching 3rd grade in 2012-2014 before I knew better. Switching to 1st grade last year opened my eyes to real explicit instruction, a whole body of research I knew nothing about, and legitimate best practices. ๐๐ผ
@sheryl_ferlito I am on a treadmill, and the steps are never ending. I learn something new and make adjustments every day-whether itโs trying a new structured literacy task in small group, incorporating more phonemic awareness into my day, or teaching my Ss why behind an irregularity in a word.
@teacher2teacher READING! Teaching my first graders to read opens so many doors for them. It provides them with limitless opportunities and potential for their futures.
