So proud of our Principal Lisa Jackson for being named CSCA Administrator of the Year! Thank you for your continued support of school counseling programs! We love our @PalmerMiddle Principal! 💙 @CCSDCounseling@CobbSchools#TogetherwithPurpose
Parents, if your kids were f2f they'd spend the 1st week building community, & learning routines/procedures/expectations. Virtual learning will be no different! Please be patient this week. Academics will start soon. The establishment of community and expectations is vital.
Almost a month into preplanning @PalmerMiddle and time is flying by. Thankful for incredibly supportive colleagues and admin that have made me feel welcome and safe as I start my journey in @CobbSchools!
Processing today: I took 2 fully online APSI courses this summer. Here are my takeaways as it relates to being a "student" in an online class.

There were times I was eating & turned off my camera only to be asked to turn it back on
First year teaching is always the toughest. Mainly because they are trying to survive the unplanned/unexpected/unknown. This year will in essence be like the first year for seasoned veterans, administrators & all staff. So let’s remember:
Relationships
Grace
Patience
Love
@AaronAvera@MsScienceLife1 There’s no date associated with Cobbs reopening plan in the emails I got. Just the different phases for when they eventually do.
As the new year begins, Remember it isn’t a contest. There are no awards & not a competition. Everyone is trying to survive the best they can. Guilt shouldn’t be part of it. Instead, have each other’s back and support each other like a winning team.
As we prepare for the first day of school, our teachers remain committed to one goal: student success.

PSA: To be brutally honest, we need everyone to act now. We're seeing a significant rise in cases and that has to change for us to go back to face-to-face instruction Please practice social distancing and wear a face covering now. We REALLY want to see our kiddos on August 10th.
If you teach Black kids, it is your responsibility to spark conversations with them (and your colleagues) about race. If you don’t teach Black kids, it is your responsibility to spark conversations with your students (and your colleagues) about race. Discomfort is no excuse.
To my white educators: Today, you’re posting about social justice, buying antiracist books, following brown folks, and temp changing your profile pictures. (thread)
Here’s what I need you to do tomorrow:
