Do you have any resources that you'd like to share? (podcasts, books, articles, people...)
@maniacsinthemiddle on Instagram is a great resource for STEM ideas. She mostly applies them to her science class, but I have used her holiday ideas! #CLBSTEM
What piece of tech are you most excited about?
I'm most excited about trying to incorporate Flip Grid into my curriculum. Giving students the opportunity to explain their thinking while also displaying creativity is a great opportunity that we don't always get in math. #CLBSTEM
What have you learned in #CLBSTEM?
#CLBSTEM has taught me that STEM is accessible to all students and can be applied to all subjects. It can be as simple as tinkering with every day materials, but it is important for students to explore, build and design.
STEAM can be as simple as spaghetti and marshmallows! Student's will be creating rectangular prisms with a volume of at least 800 cubic inches with these materials. Pastabilities are endless! #CLBSTEAM#makerEd
Volume comes in many shapes and sizes. Oh and materials, too! Can students create and calculate the volume of rectangular prisms using spaghetti and marshmallows? #CLBSTEAM#makerEd
The local pumpkin patch needs our help! They called our school and asked us to build the tallest pumpkin stand for their Corn Maze. Can you create the tallest pumpkin stand within a $150 dollar budget?! #CLBSTEAM#EDMaker
Students in 3/4FI were taking part in the testing + improving stage of the Design Process today in the MakerSpace @MortonWayPS. Pumpkin stoppers and pulley systems. Lots of reflection on what worked well and strategies to improve their designs. #PeelEML#MakerEd#STEMeducation
